#97 Fear of falling
3 facts:
Recently I was thinking how people can make a pixel art every day, and sometimes even multiple! If I produce one piece in a week, it's a miracle.
Yesterday I had a full day, nothing important to do, I planned it, I was excited about it, and I wanted to spend all of it pixeling, which I love.
I was so paralyzed by fear that I almost didn't do anything.
Why??? I thought I had this behind me.
I think, the problem is that I started to like my pixels. Yea, they are not great, even good, but some are cute, and I have kind of sympathy for them.
Before, I was sure that whatever I did, it would be terrible, but now I'm afraid that I won't like the next one.
Therefore, I had to ask myself a question: does it mean now I will be permanently afraid of my pixels? How can I even work like that?
I went to bed, and today I think I know.
You cannot climb without a fear of falling. This is something that will always be at the back of my head. And I WILL make bad pixels. But the real tragedy will only happen once. When I'll stop trying.
Somehow that unlocked me, and in the middle of a really busy day (I'm going for a trip tomorrow. See you in 2 weeks lel) I made more than in some weeks.
Do not be afraid of making things a little worse than your 100%. It will happen, but that's ok. Some next day you will be able to give 120% of yourself.

This pixel was actually soooo hard, mostly because of the angle. I slowly get used to using lines to help me set them right... veeeery slowly and most likely incorrectly.

I will spare you many, many, many, MANY tries and failures. For now, I only know it's all in shapes and shades. So basically the whole pixel.

Here you can see a clever use of layers. Every time I add a new element, I add it a new layer so I can freely move, disappear, and play with it... at least when I remember.

The eyes were such a mess. Too big, too small, too shiny, too dull, too far apart, too close! I was just trying everything I could, no smart solution here.

This is THE CHANGE: eyes smaller but closer together.

I'm getting better at shading. I think? It comes more naturally. No amount of looking for references or tips can replace a few dozen terrible pixels.
That's it for today. I know the boxes aren't here, but I don't want to postpone this post just for them, and I reeeaaaly need to pack for the trip.
Thanks for reading! Go crazy, make mistakes, and do not be afraid of falling.
I believe in you!
