#96 Resilient
I had so much fun doing this one. It almost didn't happen. I had so many breaks and "This is too hard for me" thoughts. But I can't give up now. Even if I can do only so little.

I think this time I really used a "reference", not just poorly copied someone's work. I had to look at so many things for this piece, I even have a few photos of me with my head tilted to more easily imagine how it should look.

Yep, this is the "I can't do this" screen.

It's getting worse and worse. At this point, I only knew that I want to show some of Ides's hair in a darker color as a background... incredible plan, I know.

Detail by detail, the whole picture is scary, but I know how to make eyes right?

I decided on a little different hairstyle, sharper and more messy.

Shading also has a big role.

That's the face more or less done, time for the clothing.

This is where having something to look at was incredibly helpful. Otherwise I would wonder "how the hell hoodie looks like" for the next 5 hours.

A little tip: if you want to show that one thing is on top of another (like the hood here), don't give it a sharp, clear edge, like I did here. It will make it harder to connect them.

I was not sure how to fix the hood, so I worked on the rest of the clothing for a little while.

Here, I fixed it (kinda), just use shades.

I still have no idea how to make clothes interesting, so I was just adding wrinkles and shadings.

Final piece. There is still a lot to improve, but I think Ide looks super cute like this. Maybe I will stay with this design for a while. I have some plans… totally unreasonable and impossible on my skill level. Worth a try.
Thanks for reading!! Sometimes, you just gotta run, regardless of what happens, how scary everything is, how much there is still left to go. Just put your foot in front of the other and go.
