#61 Not waiting

Ok, this was an experience...

I felt like this in the early days when I was literally copying someone's work 1 to 1 (not that I'm much better now, I would say it changed to 1 to 3). Pixeling at an angle like this AND lying down? Full body?

Poor Ide looks confused, and I'm a hundred times more.

But I'm happy that I finished it, in through the pain and sweat, I got to the end.

Next time it will be a little easier, and a little more the time after that, and a little more later.

So generally... it sucked. I felt like I had no idea what a human looks like. The whole process was one giant trial-and-error experiment, even with the example right before my eyes! Do people really just draw someone else like that, without thinking? Do they spend their days memorizing every possible position the human body can take?

After deciding that I will not recreate the sketch anyway, I just started from the basics I knew... or at least I thought I knew how. This angle was absolutely killing me! Sorry, I don't have any advice, the best I could do was to try again and again.

The face was more or less done. I was sure the skirt will be easier... it's just one color.

It's really difficult to show how many little changes I was doing. Moreover, I think if I were to do the same art again, I would make totally different mistakes.

Somehow, the hand wasn't so difficult. I didn't have to count pixels on the original to make it, so I count it as a win.

Full-body checkpoint. I had to totally change the shape of the shirt again. Thank God it's so big and simple, I have no idea how I would fix something more detailed.

Another complete change, this time legs. After modifying the shape of the shirt, there was not enough place for legs... I got hit by the literal butterfly effect.

After next complete rework (to make place for the shorts), the legs got too thin.

I tried to save as much as I could in this dire situation.

Time to fight with the face once more! I really like this hairstyle, even if it would be incredibly hard to draw it, when the character is standing (I think... how many times do I have to remind that I have no idea what I am doing???)

The background makes it look 3 times better. Generally, I'm happy that I tried. That's how we learn, by trying, copying, failing.

Thank you for reading! Until next time!
